The US Government has filed an omnibus motion seeking a a stay of all US Government deadlines in #bankruptcy cases pending in the Middle District of Pennsylvania. This includes a request for "a stay barring the confirmation of plans in any chapter case."
US Government also today sought a stay with respect to consideration of the proposed disclosure statements and plans in the Kaiser Gypsum Company bankruptcy cases as a result of the shutdown. Other major parties have not consented, per the motion.
The Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the Middle District of Pennsylvania has entered an order granting the USA's request. Among other things, the Middle District of Pennsylvania order provides for an extension of bar dates for the government & bars the entry of any order confirming a plan filed under any chapter of the Bankruptcy Code until 28 days after funding is restored.
