Lawsuit Alleging Dewey & LeBoeuf Violated WARN Act, Laying Off 450 Employees Friday Filed (Copy of Suit Embedded in Post)
A lawsuit was filed today in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York today alleging that troubled law firm Dewey & LeBoeuf violated the federal and New York state WARN Acts by failing to give 450 employees who are being laid off tomorrow proper advance notice of the layoffs. The lawsuit seeks, among other things, to recover up to 60 days wages and benefits for the employees in question as damages.

- Federal: Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, 29 U.S.C. Sections 2101 et seq.
- New York: New York Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, New York Labor Law Sections 860 et seq.
