The following charts reflect our analysis of over 11,000 notices of claim transfers filed in large Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases nationwide from January 1, 2014 to October 31, 2015. The court filings were aggregated from a review of court dockets across more than 2,000 cases. A list of the cases covered by our analysis can be found here: https://www.chapter11dockets.com/about/cases. Because claim transfers in the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy continue to comprise approximately half of all claims trading activity over this period, activity in all cases other than Lehman is also shown separately.
Chapter 11 Dockets is the most efficient, effective way to research bankruptcy cases and identify precedent. The company was founded in 2007 by Randall Reese, an experienced corporate restructuring professional and attorney who formerly was an associate in the Worldwide Corporate Restructuring Practice at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. Because it was designed by experienced restructuring professionals and is chapter 11 specific in focus, Chapter 11 Dockets is optimized for the unique needs of bankruptcy practitioners.
The database includes every document filed in over 2,000 of the largest corporate chapter 11 cases – over 3.25 million documents in total. Each and every document in the database – which is updated four times daily – is categorized and coded using Chapter 11 Dockets’ proprietary algorithms to provide users with the industry’s most comprehensive, efficient research system available at any price.
