Vesta Insurance Group Inc.  Bankruptcy New Filing Alert: Order Regarding The Motion For Authority To Enter Into A Transaction Which Is Outside The Ordinary Course Of Business

On December 23, 2014, an order regarding the motion for authority to enter into a transaction which is outside the ordinary course of business was filed in the bankruptcy case of Vesta Insurance Group Inc.  and its affiliates.

The filing was assigned docket number 1789 and is described on the court’s official docket as follows:

Order Granting Signed on 12/23/2014 (RE: related document(s)[1777] Motion Seeking Authority to Dissolve Vesta Insurance Group, Inc. filed by Trustee Lloyd T. Whitaker, Plan Trustee. Further, after the dissolution of VIG, the VIG bankruptcy estate shall remain open until further order of this Court, and the VIG Plan Trustee will continue to act as VIG Plan Trustee on behalf of the VIG bankruptcy estate with all of the powers, responsibilities, and benefits associated with that position as set forth in the Plan.). Vesta Insurance Group Inc.  filed for bankruptcy protection, or had an involuntary bankruptcy petition filed against it, on July 18, 2006. The bankruptcy case is pending before the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Alabama . The case number for the lead bankruptcy case is 06-02517. The bankruptcy case is currently assigned to United States Bankruptcy Judge Thomas Bennett.
